Eroni Saubulinayau of Tokatoka Vatuwaqa says the chiefly Vuanirewa clan of Tubou, has held a number of meetings as the traditional position is still vacant after the passing away of the former President and Tui Nayau Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara in 2004.
Saubulinayau says the Vuanirewa clan consists of the Tokatoka Vatuwaqa, Matailakeba, Nayavutoka and Naivi.
Chairman of the iTaukei Land and Fisheries Commission Ratu Sireli Vananalagi says members of the chiefly clans have to hold talks before they make the decision on who is suitable to take up the position.
50 percent of the traditional i-Taukei leadership positions are still vacant in the country.
According to i-Taukei Land and Fisheries Commission, some of these titles have not been filled due to differences between the chiefly clans.
