Minister for Defense, National Security and Immigration Ratu Epeli Ganilau last night tendered his resignation to the Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama.
This has been confirmed by Permanent Secretary for Information Sharon Smith-Johns.
The Minister for Primary Industry Joketani Cokanasiga is now the Acting PM and he is also the Acting Minister for Defense, Immigration and National Security.
Smith-Johns said she does not know the reason for the resignation and it may be revealed by the Prime Minister at a later stage.
