The trial for former SODELPA MP Simione Rasova has been moved to February next year.
This is after FICAC representative, Darren Hicks filed an application to adjourn the case and start the trial after the election period.
Hicks also filed an application to amend the charges, particularly for count 2.
He says the initial information in count 2 is that he knowingly and believed to reside in Nasenivolau, Nabouwalu Village, Ono, Kadavu, and they want to amend the charges to knowingly and believed to not reside in Nasenivolau, Nabouwalu Village, Ono, Kadavu.
Rasova's lawyer, Barbara Malimali did not object to the amendment.
According to Hicks, they want to move the trial after the elections because their Parliament witnesses are currently busy with the election, and their witnesses do not want to give evidence because of the campaign period.
Rasova's trial will be held from the 6th of February, 2023 to the 17th of March, 2023.
