A 64-year-old man who raped, indecently and sexually assaulted his 14-year-old niece in a settlement in the Northern Division has been given a 13 year jail term.
He was convicted of four counts of rape, one count of sexual assault and two counts of indecent assault.
While sentencing the man last Friday, Justice Salesi Temo says it was obvious that the man planned these sexual attacks on the complainant.
Justice Temo says the man asked her parents to send her and her younger brother to his house to play and watch movies with his young twin sons.
The Judge says however, this was nothing but a ploy and his plans were really cunning and devious. Justice Temo adds the man’s behaviour cannot be tolerated in our society.
A non-parole term of 11 years has been set.
