Thousands of Muslims will be starting their month long fasting from tomorrow as the new moon was not sighted last night.
This has been confirmed by the Fiji Muslim League.
Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is one of the most sacred times for Muslims.
It is the month in which it is believed that Islamic holy book, Quran was sent down from heaven as a guidance for men and women, a declaration of direction, and a means of salvation.
During this month, Muslims observe a strict fast from dawn until sunset and then Eid is celebrated following the sighting of the new moon a month later.
Eid could be celebrated on April 10th.
