Ram Pati Bridge in Koronivia under six feet of water, Syria Park under water

Flood waters inside the residence of Melvin Maharaj in Koronivia.

DISMAC Director Akapusi Tuifagalele says they may have restricted movement in Nausori tonight, however this will be confirmed tonight as they are still liaising with authorities. 

Ram Pati Bridge in Koronivia is under six feet of water.

Advisory Counselor Satish Kumar says the road going into Koronivia from the Research Station is under about four feet of water.

Kumar says more than two hundred houses are flooded and the residents are on the road waiting for assistance.

He says the water level is rising.

All roads going into Lokia are also under water and the water level is increasing.

Our reporter on the ground Roneel Narayan says people are trying to move to high ground.

In Baulevu:

Baulevu High School Road is closed.

A resident Uday Raj says there is a landslide near the school bus stop and people are not able to go to the school for shelter.

Raj says the water level is still rising.

In Waila:

The water level is rising in Lal Singh Road, Waila.

We have received information that residents are moving to the high ground.
