Rakiraki town closed due to flooding

All roads leading into Rakiraki town are closed due to flooding.

This has been confirmed by Fiji Roads Authority which says that flood waters continue to rise in Rakiraki town.

Rakiraki resident Saiasi Namusu confirms that Qalau Road and  Naqoro flats are closed due to flooding.

Raiwasa bridge leading into Rakiraki town and FSC bridge are both closed due to flooding.

Meanwhile, Yaladro Road in Tavua is still flooded and closed to all traffic.

Police have confirmed that the water level is rising.

According to the Police, it is raining heavily in Tavua.

People are advised to use alternative routes which are Malele, Balata and Rabulu roads.
