A 28-year-old man is charged with unlawful possession of illicit drugs after he was allegedly found with methamphetamine and $20,000 cash believed to be from proceeds from the sale of drugs.

The man was arrested following a joint raid by officers from the Narcotics Bureau, Eastern Division and Fiji Detector Dog Unit in Waimari, Rakiraki.

He will appear in court today.

In another raid conducted in Martintar, Nadi, a 35-year-old woman is charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs after she was allegedly found with marijuana and methamphetamine.

Meanwhile, two people were arrested from Namadi Heights after a joint raid where plastic bags containing white crystals believed to be methamphetamine and smoking apparatuses were allegedly discovered.

Police say the seized substance has been sent for analysis.

They say they receive information on alleged drug related activities everyday.

They have thanked the public for supporting efforts in tackling the illicit drug trade.
