Business in Rakiraki is slowly picking up after the floods and things are getting back to normalcy.

The Special Administrator, Seini Reiko said that business houses are yet to come up with their damage assessment as after cleaning the shops, businesses got busy during the Easter holidays.

She said that business is slow now however once the Sugar mill opens next month, activities will increase in town. She said all the shops in town are open for business except for the variety shop which caught fire during the height of flooding two weeks ago.

Reiko added that the town council workers are started cleaning the drains and Rakiraki town is fortunate that it did not suffer as much damage as Nadi or Ba town.
