People who live in Rakiraki Town are preparing for the worst as flood waters continue to rise in the area.

Business owners in Rakiraki Town have also started moving their stock.

The town is now closed until further notice as it is no longer accessible to small vehicles.

Rakiraki Town has been flooded from last night.

Some residents of Naqoro Flats, FSC Road and Qalau Road as well as Barotu Circular Road are also starting to move to high ground as these roads have been flooded from last night.

The Rewasa and Korotale Irish Crossings are under two to three feet of flood waters and closed to all traffic.

The Kings Highway intersection in Rakiraki is also flooded and closed.

Most of the people on their way to Suva are stranded as their vehicles cannot pass through the flood waters.
