Rakiraki Police foil aggravated robbery case of Ra Motor Gift Center Shop

Quick action by Rakiraki Police and those residing at the Rakiraki Police Barracks resulted in the arrest of two men in their 20s for an alleged case of aggravated robbery.

The incident occurred at about 9am yesterday in Korowaqa, Rakiraki.

According to Police, the two allegedly entered the Ra Motor Gift Center Shop, assaulted the owner and ran away with the cash register.

Officers on duty and those off duty residing at the Rakiraki Police Barracks as well as a team from Tavua Police Station were deployed in the search for the two suspects.

Police say the two from Rakiraki Village were arrested shortly afterwards with recoveries made including the cash register that was allegedly stolen from the shop.

The two are being questioned at the Rakiraki Police Station while the victim has been treated at the Rakiraki Hospital.
