Flood waters have receded at Vunitogoloa in Ra and the village is now being cleaned up.
The National Disaster Management Office says a team from the Rakiraki Fire Station were deployed to Vunitogoloa in Ra to assist with clearing of large debris left behind by the recent floods.
Meanwhile, a Severe Thunderstorm Alert for heavy rainfall is in force for Coral Coast, Southern, Eastern and interior parts of Viti Levu, Southern Macuata and Cakaudrove province which includes Sikituru, Momi, Wai, Tuva, Conua, Magodro, Namataku, Noikoro, Veinuqa, Komave, Savatu, Mauaira, Navuakece, Namsoi, Namara, Buretu, Rewa, Dama, Solevu, Wailevu, Wainunu, Dreketi, Wairiki, Koroalau, Navatu, Vaturova, Saqani, Natewa and Naweni.
People are advised to keep clear of flooded creeks and drains, not to walk, ride bike or drive through flood water, unplug computers and appliances, stay indoors away from windows and keep children and pets indoors as well.
The Nadi Weather Office is urging people to stay vigilant and monitor the condition.
