Opposition Leader and SODELPA, Sitiveni Rabuka has called on Fijians to pray for the nation and people of Australia who has lost their homes and loved ones as a consequence of the bushfires.
Rabuka says Australia has been one of our closest neighbours and has always been the first one to lend Fiji a hand during our time of need.
He acknowledged the selfless efforts of the Australian Fire Department, Police, Health and Emergency services who risked their lives to help those affected by the bushfires.
Rabuka says he joins everyone from around the world praying for rain in Australia to help in the abatement of the fire.
Since September, fires in Australia have killed at least 24 people and more than 2000 homes have been destroyed and millions of hectares of land scorched.
