Rugby World Cup 2023 host France has kicked off their campaign on a high note with a comfortable 27-13 win over the All Blacks in their first pool clash this morning in Paris.
Captain Gregory Alldritt says it was a very tough game as they expected but they were content with their performance.
Alldritt says the All Blacks are always a tough opponent but the win today has set the platform for his team for the next coming games.
All Blacks captain Ardie Savea says they were disappointed with the loss but this is a learning point for them as they prepare for their next games.
He adds they lost a battle today but they have a war to win.
France fullback Tomas Ramos was the toast for his side scoring 14 points off his boots with four penalty kicks at goal and one conversion.
All Blacks winger Mark Telea scored two tries for his side but was not enough for them as they slipped to their first-ever RWC pool game loss.
The game headed into halftime with France holding a slight 9-8 lead.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Water Flying Fijians will take on Wales in their first RWC pool game at 7am next Monday in Bordeaux.
In the upcoming RWC matches this weekend, Italy will play Namibia at 11pm tonight, Ireland will take on Romania at 1.30am tomorrow, Australia will take on Georgia at 4am tomorrow, England will take on Argentina at 7am tomorrow, Japan will play Chile at 11pm tomorrow and South Africa will take on Scotland at 3.45am Monday.
