Ratu Kadavulevu School has been crowned the new Vodafone Super Deans U19 champion after surviving a late comeback from neighbours Queen Victoria School to claim a 29-21 win in the final.
RKS scored an early 12-0 lead after scoring two unconverted tries before QVS kicked a successful penalty at goal to reduce the deficit to 12-3.
RKS extended their lead to 17-3 with their third try in the 15th minute of the game with an unsuccessful conversion.
In the 34th minute, RKS scored their fourth try to extend their lead to 24-3 before QVS kicked another successful penalty to bring the score to 24-6 at halftime.
QVS started their onslaught in the second spell with penalty kick at goal and an uncovered try in the 40th and 48th minute respectively to reduce the deficit to 24-14.
RKS managed to score their fifth and final try in the 69th minute before QVS replied with a consolation try after the hooter for the final score.
RKS flyhalf Sulio Loka was named the man of the match.
RKS captain Sylvester Tamaicakai says they knew it was going to be a tough clash against QVS but they have been preparing well over the week.
Tamaicakai says he felt they could have done better but he thanked his teammates for holding it out till the end.
He has dedicated the win to the whole RKS family and their parents for their never ending support.
In other results of today's Super Deans finals, Marist Brothers High School claimed the U14 title beating Suva Grammar School 13-0 and Grammar also won the U15 title edging RKS 17-12 while RKS beat QVS 19-13 to win the U16 title.
Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School created history and beat RKS 16-15 to claim the U17 title for the first time.
In the Weet-Bix Raluve Competition U16 final, Sigatoka Methodist College outclassed Naitasiri Secondary School 22-5 to defend their title.
In Raluve U18 final between Dawasamu Secondary School is currently leading MGM High 7-0.
The main U18 final between QVS and Natabua High School will kick off after the Raluve U18 final.
