The Republic of Fiji Military Forces will have the overall responsibility to ensure at all times the security, defense and wellbeing of Fiji and all its residents.
This has been clearly stated in the draft constitution.
Under the draft, the Prime Minister who will be the Commander-in-Chief of the RFMF, will appoint the Army Commander.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said people have time until April 5th to make their submissions on the draft constitution.
Commodore Bainimarama said Fiji will have a new constitution by early next month as stated.
