The Fiji Military Forces have agreed to exchange exercises with the French Armed Forces to help both armies work together during peacekeeping operations.
French Embassy defense attache, Commander Hubert Jannot says the main purpose of the exchange exercise is to share different experiences as well as improving mutual understanding between the two defence forces.
Jannot says that 25 French soldiers had to cut through 5km of bush land and trekked their survival base camp as part of a jungle and survival training program in Naitasiri.
He adds that 24 Fijian soldiers are also currently in New Caledonia doing similar survival and nautical training.
