The funeral cortege of the Late Tui Vuda,Ratu Josefa Iloilovatu Uluivuda will be escorted by the Fiji Military Forces Band on Monday.
As Government announced that there will be a state funeral for the late President on Thursday, the Fiji Military Forces say they will escort the funeral procession from the Suva Private Hospital.
The procession will pass through the Suva city for members of the public to pay their respects and travel through Suva via Waimanu Road, Marks Street, Thompson Street, Victoria Parade and Queen Elizabeth Drive before Ratu Iloilo will lie in State at the Government house.
On Tuesday morning, the cortege will depart Government building through the main streets of Suva to the old Government supplies office at Walu Bay where the cottage will be transferred to the chiefly hearse bound for Veiseisei village through Queens Road.
The chiefly hearse is expected to arrive at Veiseisei village at 4pm where the traditional protocol will be performed known as the “I Vakasobu” and the “I Soli ni Yago”.
On Thursday the Body of the late former President will then be escorted by the RFMF personnel to the Reverend Jone Wesele Memorial Church for the church service.
Following which the RFMF pall bearers will carry the body of the Late Tui Vuda and former President to his traditional burial ground or the ‘SAU TABU’ and handover to the Vanua of Vuda.
At the end of the burial, the Fiji flag will be hoisted to full mast followed by a 21 gun salute.
