'I want to begin by remembering that there are many Fijians who are displaced, suffering and fearful in the aftermath of the recent Tropical Depression.'

These were the words of Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama at the first RFMF Christmas Carol Disc Launch last night at GPH.

Bainimarama assures people that government is working overtime to reach them.

He says that flooding is widespread throughout the country, but Fiji will meet this challenge and emerge stronger, just as we have so many times before.

Bainimarama asks all those who are fortunate enough to be safe, warm and in their homes to embrace the spirit of Christmas.

He asks the people of Fiji to give of themselves, their time, energy and whatever funds and goods or food stuff people can spare to aid our fellow Fijians who are suffering.

Bainimarama says that this is how the meaning of Christmas comes home to us.

He also highlighted that our brothers and sisters need our good will, love and kindness this Christmas season, and asks that we give this freely.

Bainimarama also commended the RFMF band that have been performing since 1917 and acknowledged the reputation for excellence they have earned and the achievement they have made.
