A team from the Republic of Fiji Military Force and the Fiji Police Force will depart the country to assist in the Solomon Islands general elections.
While farewelling the taskforce at the Blackrock Camp in Nadi, Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration Pio Tikoduadua reminded them to do their best and return home safely.
Tikoduadua emphasised the importance of their mission, highlighting that Fiji plays a crucial role in maintaining peace and security wherever they are deployed. He wished the troops well and commended them for their bravery.
The Fijian troops will join other Pacific countries, such as New Zealand and Australia in the Solomon Islands. The Solomon Islands general elections will be on Wednesday.
