More than 300 residents of Qalau, Rakiraki, are now moving to high ground.
Advisory Counsillor Shri Krishna said close to 100 families on high ground are ready to provide shelter to those families who live in flood prone areas.
He said people in the area are still living in tents and under tarpaulins.
Meanwhile, 1,978 people are currently taking shelter at the 51 evacuation centers in Rakiraki.
Senior Superintendent of Police West, Marika Yalimaiwai said Rakiraki town is now closed.
Rakiraki main road towards Naqoro Flats is closed.
Raiwasa bridge, Qalau Road and FSC back road are also closed.
