More than 29,000 people of Lautoka now have a medical centre in their area as the Punjas Medical Centre was officially opened in the Waiyavi sub-division.

While opening the medical centre, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said this is the fourth medical facility that he has opened in the Western division this week.

However he said the Punjas Medical Centre is different as the entire cost of this facility of half a million dollars has been borne by the Punjas Group of Companies.

Bainimarama said the Health Ministry will now provide all the resources to run the medical centre.

The Prime Minister also called on other business houses to assist in the developments around the country.
