Punjas and Digicel have again come together to sponsor the National Netball Championship that will be held from the 13th to the 15th of October at the National Netball Centre in Suva.

This is a boost to the 20 Netball Associations in Fiji where 60 teams from around the country including players from the maritime islands will go head to head in the three day championship.

The championship also plays a part in the build-up and preparation for the Netball World Cup that will be held in August next year.

Digicel Fiji CEO Farid Mohammed says they are glad to see that netball is in a great space.

Mohammed says the competition also stands out as an example of team work, resilience and leadership.

Punjas Group Marketing Manager Gopal Jadhav says they are happy to continue supporting and empowering women in every sport they participate in.

Meanwhile, Netball Fiji President RubbyAnn Sorovaki says the sponsorship speaks volumes of Digicel and Punja's commitment to women and the development of netball across the country.

She says the tournament is going to be exciting and is vital to their plans for the next 4 years in terms of both building on their high-performance plan and having their minor and island associations come back to the fold.
