"Punctuality in all health offices will be monitored and offenders taken to task".
That is the stern warning from the Minister for Health, Dr Neil Sharma after a medical officer in charge of Nuffield Health Center in Tamavua was demoted for late arrival to work.
Dr Sharma confirmed that the doctor has been stripped off his acting position and moved to work on rotations in health centers around Suva.
The Minister has put a stop on late arrivals to every medical staff in all health facilities and failure to comply will result in disciplinary action such as suspension or demotion.
He added that in a move to improve service delivery, doctors, nurses and allied medical staff will be disciplined if health centers do not operate according to clear guidelines or opening and closure times.
