It was a joyous and memorable moment for the students, teachers, and stakeholders of Pt. Shreedhar Maharaj College as they celebrated the school’s Golden Jubilee.

The celebrations were held from Thursday to Saturday.

School Principal Manorma Devi Prasad says the school started in 1972 with 40 students and 4 teaching staff and it now caters for 465 students and 32 teachers.

Prasad says this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and will be a moment in history that will always be remembered.

She adds the management had struggled in the past to collect school fees for the running of the school and thanked the government for providing the free education grant, transport assistance and the free textbook assistance that has taken away the burden from the school management and the parents in enabling students to achieve quality education.

Prasad also says the school has constructed two duplex classrooms to cater for a Physics lab, two year 13 classrooms and a TD room.

She further says all these developments have been made possible through the hard work of the school management and the support from the Ministry of Education.
