Another group has today applied for registration of a political party for the September 17th elections, saying that they are a group of people which is offering something new for a united Fiji.

Proposed Chairperson of the proposed One Fiji Party Filimoni Vosarogo handed in more than 5,000 signatures and the $5,005 registration application fee to the Registrar of Political Parties Mohammed Saneem earlier this afternoon.

The two proposed Vice Chairpersons are former Fiji rugby captain Ro Alivereti Doviverata and Alisi Mavoa, the proposed General Secretary is Sitiveni Kalou while the proposed Treasurer is Fine Ditoka.

Vosarogo believes there is still space for another party in the September elections.

Vosarogo said their main focus is to unite everyone in the country.

He rejected suggestions that the group is a breakaway from the Social Democratic Liberal Party.

The parties that have registered so far are the FijiFirst Party, Fiji Labour Party, the National Federation Party, the People’s Democratic Party and the Social Democratic Liberal Party.
