A suspended police officer who is also a prominent soccer player has been remanded in custody by the Nadi Magistrates Court for allegedly assaulting his wife in a settlement in Nadi.
He is facing a count each of assault causing actual bodily harm and breaching the interim domestic violence restraining order.
It is alleged the man was drunk during the incident.
The matter has been adjourned to the 22nd of this month.
