Australian national, Professor Brij Lal and his wife, Doctor Padma Lal can reapply to the Immigration Department if they want the government to reconsider its earlier decision not to allow the two into the country.

Minister for Immigration, Timoci Natuva said National Federation Party Leader, Biman Prasad can comment about the issue however the decisions were made in 2009 and 2013 based on the information assessed by the authorities.

Natuva said as Minister responsible for Immigration, he also concurred with the earlier decision.

Natuva said the decision to expel Professor Lal and Doctor Lal was made after a directive from the Prime Minister’s Office to look into Professor Brij Lal’s case.

Meanwhile National Federation Party Leader, Biman Prasad said there is no justification to continue to put Professor Brij Lal and Dr Padma Lal in the ban list to enter Fiji and is appealing to the government to immediately rescind the ban on the two.
