Privileges Committee table their report with reservations from Opposition on suspension

The committee comprises of FijiFirst parliamentarians Veena Bhatnagar, Dr.Mahendra Reddy, Inia Seruiratu, Alvick Maharaj and SODELPA parliamentarians, Adi Litia Qionibaravi and Mosese Bulitavu

The Parliamentary Privileges Committee has tabled its report on the privilege matter involving the Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama and National Federation Party President, Pio Tikoduadua.

Speaker, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau has adjourned parliament for 30 minutes and parliamentarians will come back and debate the report and recommendations.

Chairperson, Veena Bhatnagar says whilst this was a consensus report, it should be noted that there were reservations from the opposition members with respect to the suspension specified in the recommendations.
