Concerned parents of two age group primary students netball teams have filed a police complaint after the money they contributed towards an Australian tour this month was allegedly used by the Tour Coordinator.
It is alleged that the total amount involved is about $105,000.
Fijivillage has received information from parents that there was a plan for the Suva Under 10 and Under 12 teams to go to Australia for a match in Brisbane and two matches in Sydney.
The parents had to give $2,750 per child for the netball tour.
Some parents also decided to accompany their children to Australia.
They were supposed to leave last Saturday however a message was sent out that the visas were late and the trip would be a bit delayed.
The parents claim that an urgent meeting was called earlier this week where they were told that the trip will not go ahead as the money has been used up and the visa applications were not even put in.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirms that a report has been lodged at Totogo Police Station by concerned parents alleging $105,000 was used by the coordinator.
No one has been questioned yet as Police are still gathering statements from the parents.
We are currently trying to get the Primary Schools Netball Association as there is no confirmation on whether this was an approved tour by the Association.
