Prices of root crops and livestock in the Western Division might increase as a result of the prolonged dry Weather conditions.
Agriculture Principal Officer Western, Vinesh Kumar said if the dry weather conditions continue, prices of vegetables such as beans and cow peas are expected to increase as the prices are already high due to it being out of season.
Kumar said prices of livestock is also expected to increase as animals will have less feed and will be producing less eggs.
He said the supply of milk will also be affected.
However Kumar said prices of tomatoes may remain constant as they are in season.
