Opposition MP Viliame Gavoka

Opposition MP Viliame Gavoka has said in Parliament that the President Jioji Konrote’s opening speech in parliament was very disappointing.

While responding to the President’s speech in parliament, Gavoka said that Konrote’s speech was very limited in scope and light on content.

Gavoka then said that the FijiFirst government should be held responsible for this.

He says that in his speech the President asked the Parliamentarians to think beyond parochial interests of ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic status or where they come from.

Gavoka says the abolishment of the GCC and the weakening of the Fijian institutions are some of the unfortunate outcomes of the misguided views of the FijiFirst.

He says the challenge is to respect and to accept the way the people are and make them an integral part of the nation in unity with everyone else.
