President Jioji Konrote has extended the appointment of Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho as the acting Commissioner of the Fiji Police Force until such time when a substantive appointment is made to the position.
Konrote who is acting on the advice of the Constitutional Offices Commission says they advertised the vacancy of position in December last year.
He says all applications for the vacancy was closed on the 29th of last month and they are currently being processed by the Constitutional Offices Commission.
Meanwhile, Qiliho’s three months acting term came to an end today.
He was appointed as Acting Police Commissioner on the 11th of November.
Qiliho has already confirmed to Legend FM News that if he is given the chance, he will take up the appointment of Police Commissioner.
