This year’s Fiji Children’s Awards is a significant one with the United Nations and all countries observing Universal Children’s Day today.

The patron of the Fiji Children’s Award Ratu Epeli Nailatikau who was accompanied by the first Lady Adi Koila Nailatikau congratulated the three recipients, 13-year-old Adi Ema Tuidriva, 16-year-old Mohammed Faruk Khan and 17-year-old Rohit Kumar for the 2014 awards.

Nailatikau said the three recipients were selected because they all have helped to improve the lives of others, especially the more vulnerable in society.

The President said although the three recipients may have helped those in need in different ways, they all have one thing in common.
