Prayers have been answered for 23-year-old Joji Nasova after he was named in the Fiji Airways National Men’s 7s squad for the HSBC SVNS Hong Kong 7s next month.
Speaking in the iTaukei language, Nasova says he’d often pray in silence during training or at work that the Lord will put him in a better place and he is glad his prayers have been answered.
He says it was a hard time for him growing up because his mother died when he was a young boy.
The 23-year-old says he grew up watching the Fiji team play in Hong Kong and he always had those wishful thinking during his primary school days that one day he would represent Fiji in the 7s tournament.
Nasova adds that he is thankful to the selectors for having that faith and trust in him and attributed his success to God.
He says he worked so hard to don the white jersey and words can not express how happy he is.
Nasova says he will use his talent, skills, and strength to bring victory to Fiji at the Hong Kong 7s and is urging the public to support the team.
Fiji will open their Hong Kong 7s campaign against Australia at 9.30pm next Friday, they will then take on Canada at 12.33am next Saturday and play France at 5.43pm next Saturday in their final pool match.
The Hong Kong 7s will be held from next Friday to Sunday.
