The Fijians recruited under the Recognised Seasonal Employer Work Scheme

The Ministry of Employment, Productivity & Industrial Relations has received positive comments from the employers in New Zealand in relation to the 12 Fijians recruited under the Recognised Seasonal Employer Work Scheme.

General Manager of Pick Hawkes Bay Incorporated Anthony Rarere said he is pleased with the workers and considers them to be quick learners, hard workers and very obliging.

Rarere said just within a week of work, the 12 have set high productivity standards and are being lauded for their good performance.

He said he is also amazed with the pace set by these men; they pick four to five bins per day, which is the target for experienced pickers.

Meanwhile, one of the workers, Filipe Naikausa Tavutu was judged the best international driver in the Instructor’s experience after receiving orientation driving instructions and testing.

Employment Ministry said the positive feedback received from our New Zealand counterpart is an indication that the selection criteria used by the Ministry is effective.
