The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team has received four yellow cards in three matches at the Dubai 7s.

The four yellow cards came from Kavekini Tabu, Vilimoni Botitu, Waisea Nacuqu and Sevuloni Mocenacagi.

Poor discipline has been a major concern for the team and was one of the reasons it did not make it past the pool stages.

It is the first time Fiji has missed out on the Cup quarterfinals in the Dubai 7s.

Fiji will now have to fight for 9th place despite beating France 24-12 in their last pool match.

Fiji had to beat France by a margin of 18 points but a combination of poor discipline and lack of urgency proved costly for the side.

The national side was earlier beaten 24-21 by Argentina in their second pool match.

Fiji will play Canada in the 9th place playoff at 1.06 am tomorrow.

Looking at the quarterfinal fixtures, England play France, New Zealand take on USA, South Africa play Argentina while Australia play Samoa.

The quarterfinals will start at 8.14 tonight, the semifinals will be at 12am tomorrow while the final will be at 4.02am tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team is through to the quarterfinal of the Dubai 7s after beating Ireland 28-12 in their last pool match.

The Fijiana will play New Zealand in the quarterfinal at 7.27 tonight.
