Pooja and prayer can also be done at home but the joy of light devotion is a special power and the feeling that is there, when we are with the Acharis in a hypnotic way when we do devotion is a different thing.
This was highlighted by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Professor, Biman Prasad at the Narere Youth Group Foundation, Vatoa Bhawan during a Shiv Katha gathering in Narere.
Professor Prasad says that he is enjoying it very much because the Bhavan connects all of us together.
He says in the Hindu culture, assembly and rituals have been ongoing since ancient times and when they came to Fiji in the girmit form of our ancestors, they brought the culture with them.
Prof Prasad says that the ancestors built the temples, schools and building for future generations.
He adds whether the temple is big or small, the knowledge provided is big.
He says the government has planned a holiday to celebrate Girmit Day so that children can always keep the memories of their ancestors with them.
