Police search for woman who stole a newborn baby from Labasa Hospital

Police are currently looking for a woman who stole a new-born baby from the Ante Natal Ward at Labasa Hospital and then abandoned it near the Police Barracks yesterday.

The unknown woman stole the new-born baby boy of a 33-year-old woman who had given birth to twins.

Upon information received by Labasa Police, the baby was found abandoned at the back of Vatunibale Police Barracks.

The baby is safe.

Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says they are still trying to ascertain the identity of the suspect as investigations continue.
