Police have just pulled out another 958 plants believed to be marijuana from one of the farms in Kadavu.
This was confirmed to Fijivillage by Police Commissioner, Sitiveni Qiliho who says that Kadavu is known as the traditional area that has been cultivating marijuana for decades.
Qiliho says they will be sending a boat across to get the plants and people that are involved to appear in court.
Police say their Southern Division Taskforce Team while on foot patrol, approached two youths and found a bag containing 12 parcels of dried leaves believed to be marijuana in Kadavu.
They say a second youth who is a 17-year-old farmer of Naivakarau-ni-niu Village upon questioning, voluntarily showed the team a marijuana farm at Naivono farm at Nai-vakarau-ni-niu Village, Sanima, Kadavu.
Police says the 958 plants believed to be marijuana was ranging from 38cm to 2.6m and were uprooted and now kept at Kadavu Police Station.
