Police have opened an investigation into the alleged case of students offering themselves for sex on social media apps in exchange for money.
Assistant Commissioner of Police-Crime Mesake Waqa confirms that a report was lodged regarding the sharing of photos on the Telegram app.
It was revealed by the Assistant Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Sakiusa Tubuna at Dilkusha Boys School that in Nadi alone, around 100 students were found to have been offering themselves for sex on the Telegram app in return for money, with the youngest being in primary school.
