Police are investigating the death of a 3-year-old girl who was found floating in their swimming pool yesterday.
The incident occurred at around 4pm yesterday along Princes Road in Suva.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Livai Driu says an investigation will be conducted to determine what had actually transpired.
He says while the incident is unfortunate, he is calling on all parents to tighten up their supervision roles and look after their children.
He says we cannot afford to be letting our guards down especially when supervising children in a risky environment.
ACP Driu says a life has been lost despite numerous calls by authorities on close supervision of children.
He says they are constantly putting up awareness and releases over the media and their officers are going around visiting houses doing the same thing.
