Police are continuing their investigation into a report filed at the Navua Police Station, where a 2-year-old girl was allegedly assaulted during an argument between her parents earlier this week.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu confirmed that the child received medical treatment at Navua Hospital after sustaining injuries in what has been described as a domestic violence incident.
According to ACP Driu, during the argument, the suspect allegedly attempted to punch his wife, but the blow accidentally struck his 2-year-old daughter, resulting in her injuries.
ACP Driu urged all parents to resolve conflicts peacefully, emphasizing that the incident serves as a reminder that violence is never a solution, as many innocent people suffer physical, emotional, or psychological harm as a result.
