24-year-old Joji Turukoya Katzuky

Police confirm that 24-year-old Joji Turukoya Katzuky whose body was found in Sigatoka on Thursday, took his own life.

His body was discovered a few metres away from his home in Nabitu Settlement.

Katzuky was wanted for questioning in relation to the murder of his 19-year-old partner last week whose body was found along Sigatoka River last Friday.

He was last seen with his partner, Maraia Boletawa in Nabitu on the same day.

Police say she was last seen and heard having an argument with Katzuky at their home earlier that morning before she ran off.

Boletawa had visible injuries on her body.

Police say investigations into her murder will continue before a decision is made by the Divisional Crime Officer on the next course of action.
