The case of an unfortunate accident which resulted in the death of a one-year-old child in Nalawa, Ra last Saturday has been classified as drowning.
Police say the child was found motionless in a bucket of water inside a neighbour’s residence.
Attempts to revive the child were proved futile and she was conveyed to the Nasau Health Centre where she was pronounced dead.
Police say the post-mortem was conducted yesterday while investigators continue to gather statements and question those people who were with the child.
Police have highlighted that investigators will be looking into the element of negligence.
