Police cannot do it alone and its quite terrible with young kids harassing people.

Minister for Home Affairs Pio Tikoduadua stated this when he was asked about the issue of mugging in Suva adding that he knows the Social Welfare Department collects the young people and tries to help them out but they always come out again.

Tikoduadua says they need to nip this kind of things in the bud as these kids need attention, love, and care as this takes a lot of effort by a lot of people.

The Minister agrees that people are getting intimidated on the streets by these young people but Police will try and maintain their presence.

He adds Police cannot always be there all the time, but they will try to do their best to make sure the streets are safe for the members of the public to walk at night.
