People should expect an increase in Police presence from today and going into the Easter long weekend.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Livai Driu says they will heighten their operations leading up to the long weekend in anticipation of increased movement before and during the Easter break.
He says their intention is to assist members of the communities develop a sense of safety and security awareness heading into the weekend.
ACP Driu says operations are gearing towards the Drua matches, Easter services, Easter processions, sporting tournaments, picnics and other social activities that are expected to take place this weekend.
He adds the public can expect snap traffic checkpoints on the roads and police deployment to popular picnic spots.
ACP Driu stresses that safety and vigilance are paramount, as complacency can lead to accidents.
