Police White prop Rusiate Nasove is the latest player to join the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s squad after an impressive performance in the 44th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s so far.
Nasove is the lock for Nadroga.
Coach Gareth Baber says he has been impressed with Nasove’s performance in the Skipper Cup competition and believes the future is bright for him because he has a great work ethic.
The tournament’s top-ranked team, Police White has qualified for the quarterfinals after defeating Blue Diamonds 21-0.
The team has the services of current and former national 7s players like Waisea Nacuqu, Terio Tamani, Keponi Paul, Livai Ikanikoda, Apenisa Cakaubalavu, Samisoni Viriviri and Kitione Taliga.
In other results of the second round of elimination, Wardens Gold defeated Navutulevu 19-5, Uluinakau beat Dominion Brothers 12-5, FDS Barbarians defeated Ratu Filise 19-14 and Eastern Saints beat Army Red 12-7.
The main cup quarterfinals will start at 1.25pm.
Police White will face Wardens Gold in the first quarterfinal while Kombat Uluinakau will face FDS Barbarians in the second quarterfinal.
FDS Barbarians has the services of Jerry Tuwai, Napolioni Bolaca, Pio Tuwai and Jiuta Wainiqolo.
The third quarterfinal will see Eastern Saints take on defending champion Police Blue.
Raiwasa Taveuni will take on Tabadamu 1 in the last quarterfinal.
The semifinals will start at 4 o’clock this afternoon while the main cup final is at 6.45 tonight.
