Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho is admitted at the CWM hospital in a stable condition after he was involved in a road accident yesterday.
Qiliho was riding a police motorcycle through Central Street in Suva City when he allegedly had to swerve out of the way of an oncoming taxi.
When asked about the incident, Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says the taxi swerved suddenly into the lane of the Police Commissioner and he also swerved to avoid an accident.
She says this resulted in the motorcycle veering off the road.
Naisoro has also confirmed that the Police Commissioner sustained injuries in the accident.
She also says that the taxi driver has been interviewed and released as investigations continue.
