Defending champions Pluto lead the medal tally after day 1 of the Natabua High School inter-house competition.
Natabua High Principal, Virendra Sharma says unfortunately they did not have enough time to prepare this year because of the rain.
However Sharma says the students were still able to perform with some achieving personal bests today in the heats with the finals coming up tomorrow.
Most of their Coca-Cola Games medalists from last year are still at school.
He says even though some of their prominent athletes have chosen new events, they have all done very well.
The School Principal says he would like to acknowledge their girls division who have stepped up their performance and they will be a stronger force compared to last year.
